Six miles this morning and week 2 of training is done! Husband and I got to bed early, got up early and hit the pavement. Good thing because it was another WINDY day!
The best thing about today's run was when I saw Run Campers headed the opposite way as me down one of the roads. For about a mile I was distracted watching other runners. This is why races are so much fun - there are other people around. Sure, I could run just for the fun of it but I'd never get sweet race shirts and I'd always be running alone.
It was a cold run. When I returned home I felt like my thighs were frozen. Then, all I wanted to eat was a bagel. My knees were a little stiff during parts of the run but overall I continue to feel really good with my training. If the darn wind would cool down just a bit I'd be happy! I'm pumped for this week because GOTR practices start and weather should climb into the 60s and maybe 70s! OH BOY!
Yesterday I went over $1,000 in donations so I am on a high from that. In addition Sister got me a sweet necklace as an early birthday present. Reasons it's awesome: it has a little girl with a pony tail running, it has a 13.1 which is the race I'm training for and it says "Sole Sister" and I'm a SoleMate for GOTR! She is an amazing gift giver.
