The other week at GOTR we taught the girls about positive self-talk. We also defined and gave examples of negative self-talk. It's easy to get down on yourself when things don't quite go your way. As runners we KNOW our body can do it, but often our mind gets in the way.
Today I was talking to myself outloud. I had my headphones on so it wasn't easy to hear myself, but outloud I found myself saying things like, "you're doing awesome, great job, one more hill!"
I ran 9 miles today and completed week 5 of my training - halfway done! My body continues to feel really good...I did wear my knee brace today and can feel some soreness in my calf but while I was running I felt amazing. This week will be a challenge because we are going out of town for a few days. I'll get my long run in but it will also be nice to have a few extra days off to rest.
